Museum research and restoration of a felon from the MET heritage, belonging to the Church of Cizer

In 1966, more than 50 objects (vestments, crosses, icons on glass and paper, various liturgical objects etc.) were donated to the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography by the Diocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj, these cultural goods being exhibited in the wooden churches within the Museum’s outdoor section.

Good practice guide

Through local cultural events and in the spirit of good practice, it is possible to promote the local heritage, with all its components: movable, immovable and immaterial. Extremely important support is provided by the National Centre for the Preservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture, which also has county branches, in which specialized staff can identify values ​​of immaterial cultural heritage (dances, folk techniques, traditions, etc.).

Visitors of  the exhibition “The Church of Horea – a heritage for the future. Valuing an 18th Century architecture monument through Virtual Reality”  have the opportunity to read a leaflet that summarizes the 57 artifacts that could be exhibited due to the skill and hard work of colleagues from the restoration-conservation department.

In the exhibition related to the project ”The Church of Horea – a heritage for the future. Valuing an 18th century architecture monument through virtual reality”, a project carried out by the  Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography, together with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and the Norwegian association NUDA AS, financed with the support of EEA Grants 2014 – 2021 within the RO-CULTURE Programme, a series of tools used by carpenters are exposed.
